After experiences in infrastructure development in emerging countries, Ismail Tazi launchedTRAME in 2020, with the intuition that craftsmanship is the future of contemporary creation. Heinitiated various collaborations between designers and artisans from across the Mediterraneanbasin, this native of Fez began exploring new ways in 2021 to reconcile traditionalcraftsmanship and technology. With the support of parametric architect Arthur Mamou-Mani, hedeveloped a collection of ceramic vases, 3D printed and then hand-glazed. This initialexperience prompted him to transition in 2022 to the world of blockchain, of which he has beena supporter since 2016 and immediately recognized its immense potential for art and design. Heinvited generative artist Alexis André to study the digital weaving craft of Néolice, in theAubusson region, in order to produce an algorithm capable of creating a large number of walltapestries, all unique but born from the same artwork. This forward-thinking approach anchoredin art and craftsmanship allows him to collaborate with leading players in web3: Art Blocks, ClubCPG... and to continue on his path. With his vision, TRAME will increase collaborations between established digital artists and high-level artisans to bring forth new works at the intersection of these worlds.
