1. The White House calls for AI risks meeting

The White House is scheduled to meet with executives from Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic to address the risks of AI. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman will attend the meeting. 

This comes after several tech leaders signed an Open Letter calling for a halt on AI development beyond GPT-4. Geoffrey Hinton, known as the "Godfather of AI," also recently left Google to warn the world of the dangers ahead.

2. Samsung bans ChatGPT from company devices

Samsung has temporarily banned the use of generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, on company-owned devices and internal networks following an accidental leak of sensitive data last month.

The restriction will last until the company can establish secure measures to safely utilize AI for enhancing employee productivity. However, this ban will not affect consumers or other Samsung device owners.

3. IBM plans to replace 7800 jobs with AI

IBM CEO Arvind Krishna announced plans to replace 7,800 jobs with AI and pause hiring for roles that could be automated. Most back-office positions, such as HR and accounting, will be replaced by AI and automation over a five-year period.
