Reddit’s Avatar Collectibles Generated $2.5M in One Day on OpenSea.

Reddit's collectible avatars are taking the Web3 world by storm. The recently launched OpenSea NFT collection called "Spooky Season: poieeeyee x Reddit Collectible Avatars" generated a staggering amount of more than $2.5M in sales on October 23, 2022. The Spooky Season collectible series was created by Reddit user poieeeyee and other independent creators in collaboration with Reddit, as part of the “Collectible Avatars Creator Program”.

Each NFT costs an average of 0.25 ETH or approximately $383 and comes with unique features, such as the ability to use your NFT as an avatar on Reddit. The highest-selling avatar in Reddit's Spooky Season collection went for 18 ETH (or the equivalent of $28,000).

Spooky Season is not the only Reddit project of this kind. Other projects such as The Senses x Reddit, Foustlings x Reddit, or Reddit CryptoSnoos. A clear sign that Reddit is among the winners of the Web3 race is the fact that the total sales volume for Reddit NFT sales across projects has surged to the amount of $6.5 million.

Non-fungible tokens used to be frown-upon on the Reddit platform in the past, but that has recently changed with the launch of limited-edition collectibles series that won the hearts of digital collectors from around the world.

Danish Brand Bang & Olufsen Launched Its Debut NFT Collection.

High-end electronics brand Bang & Olufsen has launched its first NFT collection dubbed "The DNA Collection". Each NFT contains a piece of artwork and a music track that match the brand's good reputation when it comes to manufacturing consumer electronics.

Bang & Olufsen is a company that manufactures audio products, which was founded in 1925, and as a nod to that, there are 1925 unique NFTS available in "The DNA" collection. One of the interesting features of each collectible is that owners will receive a 3D Metaverse version of that NFT. Other perks include access to the company's future NFT drops or a chance at purchasing a limited-edition physical speaker (Beoplay A9).

The Bang & Olufsen brand brought a few of its iconic physical products to the DNA NFT project, in the form of digital art,  among which the Beogram 4000 turntable, Beolab 90 speakers, and Beoplay A9. In addition, Bang & Olufsen has collaborated with leading artists and musicians from the Web3 world.

Gucci Enters Web3 and the Sandbox by Opening Its “Vault” to Everyone.

Famous luxury brand Gucci announced its entrance to the Web3 and the metaverse world with the launch of an experimental concept that will be available from 27 October to November 9. Gucci is the first luxury brand to enter the Metaverse using The Sandbox (a digital estate platform).

The "Gucci Vault"  is the brand's new play-to-know game in which players can enjoy a full 360° Web3 experience within The Sandbox. Players get a chance to win Sand (the native token for the Sandbox platform, as well as other exclusive rewards. Collectors who own one of the SUPER GUCCI or Gucci Grail NFTS will receive a wearable for avatars within The Sandbox metaverse, called Gucci Vault Aura.

The Gucci Vault, which was designed by Gucci's creative director Italian fashion designer Alessandro Michele, contains a selection of rare Gucci pieces and conversations from the movie "House of Gucci", to educate the Web3 community on the subject of Gucci's heritage.

Access to The Gucci Vault is free of charge and open to anyone who wishes to learn more about the brand's history. Users start in the "Garden of Curiosities", from where they can wander through a 3D hall with a series of adventurous rooms, each designed with the Gucci story in mind.

NFT Platform Exclusible Raised $5M in Funding for New Luxury Brand Project.

This week, NFT startup Exclusible raised over $5M in funding, in a funding round held by Dan Holzmann (the owner of FC Basel) and Tioga Capital, a Web3-focused capital venture fund.

Exclusible plans to use the obtained funds to expand its team and develop its Web3 product for customer relationship management. According to Thibault Launay, the CEO, and founder of Exclusible, the product will help brands onboard new customers, improve brand engagement, and access on-chain analytics and other data for their NFT sales.

The startup also made a second announcement, regarding the acquisition of American Web3 development studio Polycount, as a move to expand Exclusible to the USA, by leveraging on its client base.

The Lisbon-based startup company focuses on helping luxury brands digitalize their products and launch NFT successful projects. Some of Exclusible's important clients and collaborations include Asprey Bugatti, Louis Monet, Christian Lacroix, and Frederique Constant.

Twitter Will Soon Allow Users to Trade and Display NFTs Through Tweets.

Social networking platform Twitter announced it will allow users to sell, buy, and display NFT artwork within a tweet. This integration, called "NFT Tweet Tiles", is limited to a select testing group of people, and works with four major NFT marketplace platforms (Magic Eden, Rarible, Dapper Labs, and Jump.trade).

Twitter's new NFT Tweet Tiles feature will only support links from the four NFT marketplace platforms above, which span across several major blockchains, such as Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, Flow, Tezos, and Immutable X, covering most of the NFT collections available on the market.

The feature is currently being tested on the web and iOS and won't require users to have a Twitter blue check verification. Twitter already supports NFTS on the Ethereum network, as a verified-profile picture, through its Blue subscription service, a feature that was implemented back in January 2022.

And that's a wrap!

Thanks for staying till the end, and we hope you’re now better informed on NFT brand activity this week in the space.

Back to Twitter, it feels that things are going to be much more interesting from here on out. Exciting to see what's in store for Crypto Twitter, and the future of NFTs on the social networking platform.

Anyway, do let us know if there's anything you'd like to see added on What's Brand New.
